First 10 Years of My Reading Log
I have been logging the books I have read for ten years. This post will summarise what I've been reading and how that has changed over the last ten years.
All of my reading logs, all in one place. None of the book reviews reveal plot unless the review title specifically states that it does. Most of the books reviewed here are technical or non-fiction books so there is rarely any plot to reveal.

I am happy to report that I met my 2022 goal to read more fiction this year. After a slow start to 2023, I managed a reasonable year including a couple of large tomes I've had on my list for a long time.
Thankfully COVID-19 hasn't intruded too much into 2022 but I've still managed an above average reading year. I read a total of 15 books during 2022. Of the 15 books read during 2022, 11 were non-fiction. My goal for 2023 is to read more fiction.
Another strange COVID-19 affected year, another above average reading year. I read a total of 12 books during 2021. Of the 12 books, 8 were non-fiction. Seems to be a bit of a trend I've noticed.
It has been a strange year. Reading wise it has been slightly above average with another good year for non-fiction. Not sure why non-fiction is doing so well. I just find books that cast a light into areas I don't know well absolutely compelling. If the unread books on my kindle are any guide, then I doubt this trend will be going away any time soon.
A short review of the Hugo in Action book published by Manning Publications.
I think I can say that 2019 was my best year for books in a very long time. Maybe my best ever. I certainly went to town on non-fiction this year.
Just eight books in 2018. A new low I think. The best book of the year would be between Larry Niven's Ringworld, Greg Bear's Hull Zero Three and Andrzej Sapkowski's The Last Wish.
A very bad year for reading over the last year. I suspect that the Playstation 4 got in the way again. No great shame in that. Games can be excellent story telling mechanisms. Just 9 books read in total.
I read a total of 13 books in 2016. Maybe slightly higher than average but not by much.
